In nearly three hours of racing, there were eight yellow flags, with 37 of the 76 laps (the equivalent of 48%) completed behind the safety car. The seventh race of this season's Grand-Am, contested this Saturday (21), in Mid-Ohio, was not at all easy. The race, which marked the end of the first half of the championship was won by Jon Fogarty / Alex Gurney, the race finished at the time limit, under a yellow flag because of a multiple accident on the main straight.

To get an idea, the duo who have dominated the season didn’t even finish among the winners, with Scott Pruett / Memo Rojas finishing in eighth. Still, they still lead the table by classification. After them came Ricardo and Nic, in ninth, in a race in that they could do almost nothing after the pit stops. It was the first race on a wet track for the Lola, the chassis used by the duo, and at one point they led the race for three laps but stopped to late in the pits.

The decision dropped the team to 16th place. It was when Ricardo took over the wheel. “I think the only race we could talk is about Nic’s race because it was very good. He did a very good job. We lost the race in the pits. As soon as we pitted late, we lost the race. There’s not much to say. I had to learn the car in the rain like everyone. This point doesn’t matter because we were the same speed in the rain. After we got behind we could not do anything. We lost the race there.” said the Brazilian driver. The next race of the Grand-Am will be held on July 3rd at Daytona, in the United States.
