Ricardo and Nic had a hard task this Saturday (23), in the penultimate round of this season's Grand-Am, disputed in Sonoma, in the United States. The two lost the position they won in qualifying, which had them in fourth place on the grid, because the car was deemed to low by the regulations. The disqualification moved the drivers of Krohn Racing to start at the back of the grid - which required a great race to recover.

At the end of the two and a half hours of racing, Ricardo crossed the finishing line in fifth position, just over twenty seconds behind the winners, Max Angelelli and Michael Valiante. A result achieved by both the strategy of race and the effort of the drivers. Especially considering the difficulties of overtaking  on the circuit. "It’s hard to overtake here at the Sonoma track because there are no straights. said Ricardo.

Despite also facing problems with the rear tires, which at times had no grip, Ricardo managed to bring the car up to the end in a good position. "I think the fifth position was important for the championship," added Ricardo, who rose to sixth place in the overall rankings and became leader among the "rookies". He completed the race still pushing the owners of  fourth position, JC France, Joao Barbosa. "They were very quick in the fast corners,". he added.

The next race of the Grand-Am will be disputed in New Jersey on August 31. The leaders of the championship are Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas.
