Gran Premio del Mediterrano
Enna-Pergusa, 21 July (40 laps)

Ricardo's car featured a new color scheme, the white Draco/Condor now having green sidepod tops and a yellow roll over bar.It was raining during Friday practice and as a further nuisance a huge colony of frogs invaded the track.
At first qualifying Ricardo was 3rd while his teammate Paese couldn't do a single lap after having crashed the car during practice. As a heavy thunderstorm completely spoilt the second qualifying session, Ricardo kept his third position on the grid while Paese became a non-qualifier.
Qualifying:
3rd 1:34.453 +1.221
There was threat of more rain in the air as the cars lined up on the grid.
At the start Belgian Goossens from pole position immediately took the lead while Müller struggled to get his car going and Zonta, Tinseau and Julian passed him. However, Müller was soon past Julian again and took up the chase on Tinseau. On lap 6  championship leader Bräck, who was advancing from a bad starting position, retired after a crash when lapping his countryman Rosenblad. Ricardo found that he was unable to do anything against Goossens in the lead but tried to settle for second.
That was easier said than done as Müller now was really flying and was closing up after having passed Tinseau for third.
On lap 20 Ricardo lost second place to the German and 6 laps later it was all over for Ricardo as the gear linkage broke and he spun into retirement from his third position.
