After the problems that affected the team in classification and training, forcing the duo to drop to 13th place, nobody could of foreseen a good race for Ricardo and Nic this Thursday (3) in Daytona, the eighth race of the Grand - Am season. The two finished the race in 3rd place, winning the second podium for Krohn Racing  this year, equalling the best result so far of 2008 (where they finished third in Mexico City). The secret, according to the team, was to go back to the traditional set up of the Lola chassis, after a series of experiments had not yielded the expected.

"I'm very happy, especially in light of what we faced today," said Ricardo. The event, which opened the programming of the weekend's Coke Zero 400 of Nascar, was run over just one day. "It's a great result for us - for the development of the car, we worked hard to get this far. We have to continue to work hard and have everything in the right place at the right moment. I think we are getting close to stepping up higher on the podium." added the driver, who now tries to return to Brazil to accompany his team, Panasonic Racing, in the Stock car race in Campo Grande (MS).

The race which was the second podium for Ricardo in this season, ended with the victory for Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas, there fifth of the season, this time with a change in the history of Grand-Am, only about 0s081 split from second placed, Jon Fogarty and Alex Gurney, making it the closest finish ever, Ricardo and Nic remain in fifth place in the points table. The next race in Grand Am will be on July 20th at Barber Motorsport Park in the United States.
